Sanna Stanley

Sanna Stanley lived in Belgium and the Congo before graduating from high school in Vermont, but continued to travel, doing volunteer education work in Bangkok, Thailand and Venezuela. She now lives on the Connecticut shoreline with her family and a Siberian Husky named Tasha. In addition to writing stories and making pictures, Sanna studies folk-style fiddle and T’ai Chi sword form.
Ms. Stanley holds an MFA in Visual Essay from The School of Visual Arts, an MA in Painting/Drawing from Marshall University, and a BA in Psychology. She received the title Master Teaching Artist by the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism for her work as an artist-in-residence in Connecticut schools in oral history, novel writing and mural work. Sanna won the 2007 Tassy Walden New Voices in Children’s Literature for her middle grade novel, Oneida.
