Seven Froggies Went to School

Based on a song her grandmother learned as a second-grader at the turn of the last century, the text of the book reflects the stern scholastic discipline embraced during that era. But Ms. Duke didn’t grow up in those restrictive times, and in her illustrations the froggy students are allowed the freedom to come up with a creative solution to the timeless problem of bullies. At the end, Master Bullfrog, the froggies’ dignified preceptor, shows his ability to move along with changing times by thoroughly approving.
